September 26 Scripture Reading
Scripture Readings: Proverbs 7:24-27, Isaiah 21-22, Hebrews 4:14-5:10
Reflection Verses: Hebrews 5:8-9
Reflection: Jesus modeled suffering and obedience for us in the way He secured our salvation. Jesus suffered but He was obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. What a Savior! Beloved, obedience is learned. It comes through discipline and correction designed to bring us to a desired behavior. Suffering and obedience are two words that most of us want to avoid because they speak of pain that could happen to us. However, the reality is that both discipline and obedience serve to develop us to be the person that God desires us to be.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to submit to godly suffering and obedience, that I may become more like You. Create in me the desire for godly instruction and discipline that I may be molded into the image of Your Dear Son. Do what it takes Lord, to develop me into a servant that can be used in Your Kingdom. Please teach me Your ways, Lord! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
