Reflection:  In the text, the people of God had once again sinned against God. But notice that the man Phinehas showed his love for God and for God’s people by doing what was necessary to stop the plague. His actions pleased God, for Phinehas exhibited the zeal of God that all priests and leaders should have within. Beloved, everyone of us should have such zeal for God, that it compels us to do what is right and pleasing in the sight of God.

Prayer:  Holy Father, Thank You for this day and for all YOU do for me in any given day. I am aware that I cannot make it without YOU! I am amazed that YOU love me so much! How I love YOU, Lord!  May I be zealous in my service to YOU! May my actions show how much I love You and be an example also for others to advance Your interests in Your Kingdom… In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
