Scripture Readings:  Psalm 71:1-13, Deuteronomy 21-22, Romans 7:7-25

Reflection Verses:  Deuteronomy 21:18-19

Reflection:  The text tells of a son, who is so stubborn and rebellious that he is not only a harm to himself, but to his parents, to his family and to his community. This young man has no respect or honor for his parents. His parents have admonished him, confronted him and disciplined him to no avail. What is left for them to do? If this kind of behavior continues, this son will be in front of a judge one day to determine the next events in his life. Sometimes tough love is the only love that will help.

Prayer:  Holy Father, thank You for all You have given us, especially for our children. Help us to be good providers for them. Help us to train them, that they may be prepared for the world. Give us wisdom, Lord, to teach our children Your ways – and help our children, Lord, to listen and obey… in Jesus’ Name we pray.  Amen.
