Scripture Readings: Psalm 87, Judges 20:19-21, Mark 9:14-32

Prayer: Lord God, as Christians we are told that we need to pray. The disciples had even asked Jesus to teach them how to pray. Then they were confronted with a situation in which they could not get results. Jesus told them it takes prayer and fasting to do what they wanted to do. Obviously, this is not just any prayer, but serious, believing prayer – prayer that seeks You for results – accompanied by submitting to Your will through fasting. Help me, Lord, to enter into this kind of fasting and prayer in which I seek You, believe in Your ability to bring forth miracles and healing and submit to Your will, as I speak forth in faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
