July 7 Scripture Reading

Scripture Readings:  Psalm 119:33-40, I Chronicles 7, Philippians 1:21-2:11

Reflection Verses:  Philippians 1:24-25

Reflection:  Paul was conflicted at this time of imprisonment as to whether it would be better for him to endure persecution and continue to preach the gospel, or to be taken to eternity to be with Christ. Paul concluded that, since God’s will is for others to be saved, it is better for him to be alive. Paul accepted that when it is God will, his death would happen. In the meantime, Paul’s focus must be to stay alive and serve others. That should always be our focus, Beloved. We should always seek to do what we can for the Kingdom of God while we are able – and leave the rest to God!

Prayer:  Lord, my life is in Your Hands. I am here to do Your will – and to serve You as best as I can for as long as I am alive.  Nothing is more important to me. This I will do until You allow death to take me home to You. Thank You, Lord, for allowing me to serve You… In Jesus’ Name I pray.  Amen.
