Scripture Readings:  Psalm 76, Joshua 8:30-10:28, Romans 14:19-15:13

Reflection Verse:  Joshua 9:24

Reflection:  The Gibeonites deceived Joshua and Israel’s leaders because the Gibeonites were afraid for their lives. The Gibeonites knew they would be be killed, so they took action to save their lives. They had nothing to lose. But it should be understood that the only reason the Gibeonites’ plan was successful is because Joshua and the leaders did not seek God before making a treaty with them. Beloved, we must seek God in all things if we are to continue to be successful in the land that God has given us.

Prayer:  Our Father, Who art in Heaven; Hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Holy Father, Thank You for Who You are in our lives! We are aware, Holy Father, that our ancient enemy desires to deceive us and keep us from fully serving You. So, Father, keep us diligent to check with You before taking any action – so that our relationship with You remains strong… In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.
