Scripture Readings:  Psalm 78:56-64, Judges 1-2, Mark 4:1-20

Reflection Verse:  Judges 2:18

Reflection:  The people of Israel did not finish their God-given assignment to completely rid the country of all evil and the worship of other gods. As a result, the Israelites eventually stopped following God.  God then raised up judges to help them get back on track. While the judge was living, God used the judge to help the people follow God again. Beloved, society has a tremendous influence on us. We must be diligent that we serve God with our whole heart, and not allow the world to pull us away from God.

Prayer:  Holy Father, Thank You for being our God. Thank You for Your Word which gives us instructions in righteousness, holy living and how we should worship. Even so, Holy Father, we often fall short. Sometimes the world distracts us. Please forgive us for this sin. Help us to know, Lord, that we are to make You our first priority… not anything else. Help us to take heed to Your man or woman servant, as they admonish us to never lose sight of the fact that You are to be our top priority, our main focus… the God we worship and serve! In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.
