Scripture Readings: Psalm 80, Judges 7-8, Mark 5:21-43
Reflection Verse: Judges 7:2
Reflection: In the text today, God was about to deliver Israel from their enemies – and God desired the glory for what God was about to do. God knew that Israel would take the glory for themselves, because they did not serve God the way that they should, even though they asked for God’s help. So, in order that Israel may know that God delivered them, God reduced their army from 32,000 to 300. Then it was impossible for Israel to take the credit or the glory for their deliverance because victory over the enemy seemed impossible – BUT GOD! Beloved, do you give God the glory for what He does in your life or do you claim it for myself?
Prayer: Holy Father; Thank You for another day. Thank You, Lord, that in You we live and move and have our being. Please be glorified in us as You bless, deliver, and protect us each day. Help us to understand that our victory is in You! Forgive us, Lord, when we claim the glory that belongs to You. It is our desire that You alone be glorified. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
