August 7 Scripture Reading
Scripture Readings: Psalm 133, Ezra 6-7, Luke 11:29-36
Reflection Verse: Psalm 133:3
Reflection: King David used a word picture to show how wonderful unity is among the people of God. He said it is like the rich dew that covers Mount Hermon, making it green and moist. Unity among God’s people makes life vibrant and healthy. The blessing of unity is something God commands and is taught in the New Testament (John 17:20-23, Ephesians 1:9-10, Romans 12:18). And Beloved, since we will have life forevermore with the people of God, it makes since that we should work hard to enjoy a life of unity with them now.
Prayer: Lord God, Thank You for unity in the Body of Christ and with my natural family. I am aware that You are pleased when we live together in unity and that You make our lives pleasant when we do so. So, help us Lord, to work hard to foster unity in our family. Give us more grace Lord, that we may do our part. Bless us with Your Presence. Let Your love and Presence be so thick around us that it encompasses and refreshes me and all who are with me… In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
