Reflection:  in the text today, Jacob was in extreme grief. He had lost one son, and another was being held for ransom. Then, Jacob faced the possible loss of his youngest son. The thought of it was overwhelming to Jacob.  Beloved, reality kicks us when we least expect it and at times we don’t handle it well. Grief can do a number on us! In those times we must trust God for HE alone has the comfort and strength we need.

Prayer:  Holy Father, Thank You for being with me in all situations. Help me, Lord, to come to terms with life’s tough situations and to trust You in them even when I don’t know what to do. Father, I depend on You… In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
