Scripture Readings:  Psalm 24, Exodus 7-8, Matthew 21:33-22:14

Reflection Verses:  Matthew 21:45-46

Reflection:  Beloved, in the text today, the chief priests and elders wanted to seize Jesus on the spot because they understood that Jesus’ parables had been spoken against them. They did not seize Him, however, because they feared the people, who thought Jesus to be a prophet. Sometimes our fear of what people may do keeps us unable to do something or even to make sound judgments. The religious leaders could have chosen to repent and believe in Jesus and Who He is. Instead, they sought to destroy Him when they could have opened the door to salvation and another level of belief in God the Father.

Prayer: Holy Father, Thank You for Your Son Jesus, Who is the only way to YOU. Lord, empower me to push through what the world may say or do so that I may follow You through Jesus. Holy Father, I seek to know You better and to follow Your ways, which are not generally my ways. Help me to do that, Lord… In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
