Prayer:  Lord God, Barzillai understood that at 80 years old that his life of service to You and David were nearing its end. He had served David faithfully by providing for his needs during David’s time of exile and David wanted to reward him. Barzillai saw the merits of David’s offer and agreed to his proposal, offering Chimham as his replacement to serve David and enjoy his reward. Lord, help us to see the wisdom of passing on to the next generation the opportunity to serve in our places. Help us to seek to teach and give away all You have taught us, so those persons are equipped to serve You faithfully… In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.
