Scripture Readings: Psalm 56, Numbers 22-23:12, Acts 21:17-40

Reflection Verse:  Numbers 23:8

Reflection:  Balaam was a prophet for hire. He earned his living using his Divine gift to benefit kings and people of wealth in their efforts to have things their own way. In this case, Balaam was unable to pronounce a curse on Israel or denounce them, no matter what the price he was to receive. Of course, Balak, the Moabite king who hired him, was very upset about that. This says to me, that when we have the favor of God, people may try to curse us or stop us from our purpose, but God will not allow it. Thank God for the favor of God!

Prayer: Holy Father, Lover of my soul. I am so grateful for Your favor and Your love for me – and, for YOUR faithfulness towards me. Enable me, Lord, to be faithful to You. Give me a mind to speak Your words faithfully in every situation. Give me the courage and the desire to speak Your truth, and to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to YOUR glory… in Jesus Name.  Amen.
