Scripture Readings: Psalm 89:30-37, I Samuel 8-10:8, Mark 11:27-12:17
Reflection Verses: I Samuel 9:15-16
Reflection: The Lord prepared Samuel for his encounter with Saul the day before it occurred. The people wanted a king and had voiced as much to Samuel. Subsequently, God chose Saul to be that king. Then God spoke to Samuel concerning Saul’s assignment as king and what Samuel should do to ensure that Saul’s elevation to king was carried out. Beloved, when God has an assignment for you, God will also confirm the assignment.
Prayer: Holy Father; thank You for another day to serve You in the beauty of holiness. Please forgive us for our sins and make us fit vessels for Your use. We trust You, Lord, and believe that You know what You want to do with us. We also trust that You will make clear to us what our assignment is. Thank You for preparing others to know also and to confirm what You are doing with us. Thank You for whatever call You have given me and for its confirmation… In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
