Scripture Readings: Psalm 89:46-52, I Samuel 13-14:35, Mark 13
Reflection Verse: I Samuel 13:14
Reflection: It should be noted, that even though Saul was chosen by God to be king, Saul proved to be untrustworthy, in that he did not obey God fully. Notice, that when Samuel was late for the sacrifice and the people began to leave, Saul decided to make the sacrifice himself because he feared the people. This act cost Saul his kingship. Beloved, we must choose to always obey God fully, regardless of what others choose to do.
Prayer: Holy Father; You are God all by Yourself and we worship You. You are the creator and giver of this day and we are grateful. It is You, Lord, who determines how we will be used for Kingdom purposes. Help us to be fully aware that You will not use a person whom You cannot trust. Help us to understand, that obedience to You is the key to success and favor, for all those who serve You, and who are leaders in Your name. I pray that each of us, whether leader or follower, will faithfully completed every assignment, Lord, and follow Your instructions to the letter in all we are called to do…In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
