Reflection:  In today’s reading, Hannah, the wife of Elkanah, made a vow to God that if He gave her a son, she would give her son to the service of God all the days of her son’s life. Eli, the priest, told Hannah that God would grant her request. Hannah was elated because God had answered her prayer. Beloved, I say unto you again, that the effectual fervent prayers of the righteous avail much.

Prayer: Our Father, Who art in heaven; how excellent is Your Name in all the earth! I am grateful to You, Holy Father, just for the privilege of relationship with You. Thank You also, Father, for the privilege of prayer. I am grateful that You hear and answer me when I pray. Like Hannah, I am elated when You answer my prayers. Thank You for Your faithfulness towards me! In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
