September 21 Scripture Reading
Scripture Readings: Proverbs 6:16-19, Isaiah 7-8, Philemon
Reflection Verse: Philemon 10-11
Reflection: Onesimus, an escaped slave, accepted Christ and was discipled by Paul while Paul was in prison. Afterwards, Paul sent Onesimus back to Philemon, his owner, as a brother in Christ, and a useful partner. It was Paul’s desire that he be received as such. Restoring relationships are essential for us as Christians. Beloved, we should count ourselves as blessed to have friends, and do all we can to maintain our friendships when they are godly.
Prayer: Father God, Thank You for godly relationships. I am aware that every relationship with my brothers and sister in Christ is vital, so, I am to do everything possible to maintain or restore them, and to keep them current and well healed. My relationship with You, Lord, is so important to me that I want to have good relationships with others, especially other Christians… In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
