April 29th Scripture Reading

Scripture Readings: Psalm 80, Judges 7-8, Mark 5:21-43

Reflection Verse: Mark 5:36

Prayer: Lord God, the synagogue ruler asked Jesus to heal his daughter. Jesus started on His way to do what was asked of Him, taking three disciples with Him. Before He arrived, word came that the ruler’s daughter had died. Jesus told the ruler not to be afraid but to believe. Often our fears get in the way of our faith. Fear is “false evidence appearing real” and is the opposite of faith. Faith is the substance of what I hope for and evidence of what I can’t see. I know, Lord, that You are at work in my worst possible circumstances. So, increase my faith, Lord, so my fears are removed, so that I may believe for more of You, expanding my vision of what You are able to do… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
