May 7 Scripture Reading

Scripture Readings:  Psalm 88, Ruth 1-4, Mark 9:33-50

Reflection Verses:  Mark 9:49-50

Prayer:  Lord God, the mark of a disciple of Jesus is to be an influence on the culture in which we live.  We, like the disciples, have issues with one another occasionally.  We are to apply to these relationships our preservative quality to bring out the best in these persons.  As we do this we have Your peace and also peace with each other.  We are a member of Your Kingdom, Lord, and not just an island unto ourselves.  Help me, Lord, to keep the purity of my saltiness as I relate to others, especially those in Your Kingdom.  I desire to bring out Your best flavor in every person in which I associate. In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
