August 1 Scripture Reading
Scripture Readings: Psalm 127, 2 Chronicles 30:13-32:23, Luke 8:40-56
Reflection Verse: 2 Chronicles 30:26
Reflection: There was great joy in Israel as the people of God celebrated the Passover which had been neglected for years. In the vernacular of today’s youth, it would be said that they “turned up”. We need to celebrate like that and rejoice in God who continues to do marvelous things in our lives. We need to have times to enjoy God’s Presence with others who are like minded with good food, laughing and fellowship. We can see now how in the past we have taken those opportunities for granted.
Prayer: Dear God, our Father. Thank You so much for the many blessings of deliverance that you have bestowed upon Your people. Forgive us for not taking full advantage of our time to celebrate You as we should. Please give us another chance. Deliver us Lord, from the pandemic that is plaguing our land. Give us more opportunities to get together without fear to worship You with singing, eating, praying and enjoying those who love You as we do… In Jesus’ name. Amen.
