August 22 Scripture Reading

Scripture Readings:  Psalm 145:1-7, Job 1-3, Luke 19:28-48

Reflection Verse:  Luke 19:42

Reflection:  Jesus, the Messiah, and the peace that He brings was right there in front of the people and the leaders, but they could not recognize who Jesus is.  As a result, they rejected Jesus and had to suffer the consequences of their decision. Beloved, it is important that all of us understand that what we decide about Jesus will have eternal consequences. We may not like that our decisions have consequences, but they do. 

Prayer:  Lord God, Thank You for Your Son, Jesus.  May my eyes stay opened to who You are, and who Jesus is.  May I never take my relationship with You in Jesus for granted, but continue to seek a close, enduring relationship with You through Your Word and prayer… In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.
