July 12 Scripture Reading

Scripture Readings:  Psalm 119:73-80, I Chronicles 14-16:6, Colossians 1:21-2:5

Reflection Verse:  Colossians 1:23

Reflection: The Christians at Colossae had heard the true message of the Gospel and they believed it. But they began to listen to what the false teachers taught. So, Paul urged the Christians to continue to believe God’s truth. Paul wrote his letter to them to explain more about the truth. Paul and other Christians preached the genuine message of the Gospel in all areas of the world. Only the true message would cause Christians to ‘spread’ and produce ‘fruit’. It is so important for us today to continue in God’s Word that we may continue in the faith, unmoved by all the false doctrines that exist today.

Prayer:  Lord God, to stay in the Christian faith, I must continue in the Gospel.  I must continue and keep on continuing in the faith, so I will be firmly established and mature.  This hope I have in You, Lord, is my only hope!  It has been proclaimed in all of creation as Your Final Word.  May I keep on proclaiming it.  Thank You, Lord, for this opportunity You have given me to proclaim Your Word and minister to those whom You give to me to minister to.  May I continue to be faithful… In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
