May 10 Scripture Reading

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL HCBC MOTHERS
Scripture Readings: Psalm 89:19-29, I Samuel 5-7, Mark 11:1-26
Reflection Verses: Mark 11:15-16
Prayer: Lord, the exchanging of money for animals for people who came to Jerusalem was needed for people to present their sacrifices in worship to You. These practices had taken on a corrupt life of their own to the point that they created hardships for people who had come to worship by having to pay more than they should. These practices also shut down access to the temple for other people, especially the outer court for Gentiles since it had been taken over by those exchanging money. Help us to see what we are practicing today that makes it difficult for people to worship You, Lord. Reveal to us Lord, what accesses are closed for people to come into Your presence. Lord, help us to understand our role in making sure doors are opened for people to come to You and experience complete reconciliation with You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
