October 8 Scripture Reading

Scripture Readings:  Proverbs 11:1-6, Isaiah 48-49, Hebrews 13:7-25

Reflection Verses:  Hebrews 13:7

Reflection: We are told to recognize and follow godly leadership in the body of Christ, leadership shown to be legitimate by faithfulness to the word of God and by godly conduct. Such leaders should be recognized and followed. Just as much as a church needs godly leaders, it also needs godly followers. But understand, Beloved, leaders don’t need to be perfect, but they should be able to show with their life that the power of Jesus is real as it impacts and transforms the individual life. That demonstrates a faith that can actually be followed.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, You have given us leaders and assigned pastors and preachers over us to teach us and to preach Your Word to us. Please help us to follow their lead and to give them the proper respect that Your servants deserve. When we honor them, we are honoring You so help us as we strive to be good followers… In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
