August 25 Scripture Reading

Scripture Readings:  Psalm 147:1-11, Job 8-9, Luke 21:5-38

Reflection Verse:  Luke 21:37

Reflection:  Jesus had a balanced routine.  He taught in the temple during the day and He spent the night resting on Olivet. Jesus worked His assigned task during the day, or rather, Jesus did what He was sent to do. Then at night He rested and was refreshed by God for the next day’s labor. Beloved, we must work our assignments, but we must balance our lives with the proper rest and leisure time.

Prayer:  Lord God, I desire to keep my life balanced in my service to You.  Enable me to labor and rest as both are needed. Refresh me and strengthen me for the work You have asked me to do, and help me to make sure that I spend time with You… In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
