Prayer: Lord God, the religious leaders sought to trap Jesus in one of His statements so they could use it against him. This particular question about paying taxes was designed to make trouble for Him with the Roman government. His answer surprised all of them with His wisdom. May my answers to controversial questions bring calm to situations. May I speak Your truth, Lord, in a simple, profound way that people are confronted with their motives and their need for repentance. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
