August 12 Scripture Reading
Scripture Readings: Psalm 136:16-26, Nehemiah 5-7:3, Luke 13:1-21
Reflection Verse: Psalm 136:16
Reflection: God led His people through the wilderness and God’s mercy was to be measured by all the protection extended over them; by all the provision made for their needs; by all that God did to defend them; by all his interposition when attacked by their enemies; by safely bringing them to the land to which he had promised to conduct them. How wonderful it is to know that God leads His people…God leads us! And regardless what wilderness we face, God is sufficient to provide for us in the wilderness and to safely lead us through it. Hallelujah!
Prayer: Lord God, You led Your chosen people through their self-imposed wilderness to Your promised land. Your mercy was always available. My life is in Your hands, Lord. I depend on Your mercy and it is always there for me. Help me to get over myself and receive Your mercy. You take me through my difficult, troubling times also. I yield my messed up will to Your marvelous Will for me. I am grateful for Your mercy to me… In Jesus’ name. Amen.
