August 14 Scripture Reading

Reflection Verse:  Luke 14:24

Reflection:  Divine healing is a holy event which honors God when it is directed by God. What honors God the most is a Believers obedience to Him, even when it means not keeping man-made religious rules.  When Jesus questioned the Pharisees and Scribes concerning this basic legal question, they refused to answer Him which means they had an idea that their thinking was in error. Beloved, God directed healing always trumps man made rules. That is why Jesus healed the man and it is why we should be obedient to God’s directions as well.

Prayer:   Lord God May I be obedient to do what You tell me to do. I know You have good reasons for directing me to do something even when it might conflict with the religious norms of today. Therefore, Lord, please give me the courage to follow Your directions. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
