July 24 Scripture Reading

Scripture Readings:  Psalm 119:169-176, 2 Chronicles 10-12, Luke 5:1-16

Reflection Verses:  Luke 5:15-16

Reflection: Jesus was the hottest new personality on the scene.  Crowds of people flocked to hear Jesus teach and to be healed by Him. The excitement about Jesus was abounding, but Jesus kept Himself focused and balanced by getting away from the crowds and the demands of the ministry to spend quality time with God in prayer. Jesus’ example teaches us that in order to be effective in ministry, we must take time to be refreshed by God.

Prayer:  Father God, I am fully aware that I can do nothing without YOU. Unless You bless me with health, strength and endurance, I will soon burn out and have nothing left to give to be a blessing to anyone. So, Lord, I ask that YOU refresh me as I spend time with YOU. Give me strength to minister to others with power and in the manner in which YOU have designed for me. Thank You, Lord for meeting with me and providing for me… In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.
