September 10 Scripture Reading

Scripture Readings:  Proverbs 3:27-35, Job 40:15-42, I Timothy 2

Reflection Verse:  I Timothy 2:7

Reflection: To be appointed by God to an assignment is most important. Today we speak of this as a call. Ministry most often means preaching, teaching, pastoring, church planting and various forms of outreach to the poor and unfortunate. God-appointed ministry often comes with adversity, obstacles and frustrations. But the good news is that God equips those who He calls to fulfill these tasks. Without God’s call one should not take on this kind of work because only God can make this work successful. With God on one’s side, one has the confidence that whatever the assignment, God will get glory from what is done!

Prayer:  Lord God, thank You for calling me to the work of ministry.  I praise You, Lord, because whatever work You chose me to do will be successful to the glory of Your Great Name! Thank You, Lord, for equipping me for what I am called to do. And because You are on my side, Holy Father, I never have to apologize for my call; I never have to be afraid of the work. Instead, O, God, I embrace it. I operate in it and seek all that You would give me to help me with my assignment, especially the anointing… In Jesus’ Name I pray.  Amen.
