September 23 Scripture Reading
Scripture Readings: Proverbs 6:30-35, Isaiah11-13, Hebrews 2
Reflection Verse: Hebrews 2:14
Reflection: For Jesus to truly fulfill the role of “Elder Brother” for the family of the redeemed, He had to take on flesh and blood. He had to partake of the same sufferings that we as humans suffer, that He Himself could set us free from sin and death once and for all. The Son of God gave His life that He might conquer death. Now, Christians have no fear of death (though perhaps a fear of dying), not because death is their friend but because it is a defeated enemy that now serves God’s purpose in the Believer’s life.
Prayer: Dear God, our Father. Thank You for Your Son Jesus. Thank You that He became a partaker of the same sufferings that we suffer. Thank You that Jesus had the power to conquer death for all of us, once and for all. Thank You, God for every Believer. Thank You for our faith in the risen Christ! Thank You that the devil no longer has control over our life and that the life we now live by faith is controlled by the Son of God, Who loves us and died for us! How good You are to us. How merciful You are! Help us now, Dear Lord, to continue our journey in faith, that You may get glory from our life… for it is in Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
