September 24 Scripture Reading

Scripture Readings:  Proverbs 7:1-5, Isaiah 14-16, Hebrews 3

Reflection Verse:  Hebrews 3:6

Reflection:  We are a part of Jesus’ household if we hold fast. The writer to the Hebrews is encouraging those who felt like turning back, helping them to hold fast by explaining the benefits of continuing on with Jesus. Beloved, true commitment to Jesus is demonstrated over the long term, not just in an initial burst. We must trust that He who has begun a good work in us will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).

Prayer:  Lord God, Thank You for the faithfulness of Your Son, Jesus. Thank You for the confidence that in Jesus we are counted as faithful also. Lord, I am aware that we will be tested in our faith, but I am confident that we will remain faithful and strong as we are being built into a spiritual house in Christ. Heavenly Father, my confidence is in You and none other.  It is my joy to serve You and to be one of Your loving, obedient servants…In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.
