October 13 Scripture Reading

Scripture Readings:  Proverbs 12:1-7, Isaiah 63-65, James 5

Reflection Verse:  James 5:16

Reflection:  James reminds us that mutual confession and prayer brings healing, both physically and spiritually. Confession can free us from the heavy burdens (physically and spiritually) of unresolved sin and removes hindrances to the work of the Holy Spirit. But consider this, Beloved; confession is good, but it must be made with discretion. An unwise confession of sin can be the cause of more sin.

Prayer:  Eternal God, Lord, help us to confess our sin as Your Word says, but direct us to the right person to confess our sins to. Thank You Lord, that confession of sin puts us in the position for You to help us.  May we keep ourselves clean before You, Lord, through honest confession so that our prayers are effective, not hindered, and able to accomplish all that is possible through You… In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.
