July 5 Scripture Reading
Scripture Readings: Psalm 119:17-24, I Chronicles 4:24-6:14, Ephesians 6:10-24
Reflection Verse: Ephesians 6:19
Reflection: Paul’s prayer to share the gospel included a request for the right words to share. We are to share our faith through our actions, yet we are also called to share our faith with our words. It is important that our actions and our words work together. Bold sharing of faith includes the effective use of speaking to communicate the good news of Christ. Without the truths of the words, there is no gospel.
Prayer: Father God, give me more boldness. My natural tendency is not to stir up stuff. However, I know Jesus is the only answer to every situation. So, give me more boldness, Lord, to proclaim the Gospel. Help me to understand, that what is controversial for one person is good news to another person. Fill my mouth with bold utterances, Lord, to speak forth the Good News of the Gospel to those who are open to hear it… In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
