August 18 Scripture Reading

Scripture Readings:  Psalm 141, Esther 1-2, Luke 17:1-19

Reflection Verse:  Luke 17:4

Reflection:  It is possible that a person would sin against another seven times during a single day.  Most people do not recognize that they are sinning or how they are sinning against others.  Sadly, there are not many people in this world who repent for their sin against others even once, and certainly not that many times in a day. However, Jesus teaches that every time they come to repent, we are to forgive them.

Prayer:  Lord God, help me get in the habit of forgiving a person each time they sin against me, whether they ask for it or not, but especially when they ask. I am mindful that you have forgiven me over and over again – and in the same way I must be forgiving of others. Thank You Lord, for forgiving me of my sins and teaching me to be forgiving as well.  In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
