September 13 Scripture Reading

Scripture Readings:  Proverbs 4:18-27, Ecclesiastes 6-7, I Timothy 5

Reflection Verse:  I Timothy 5:19

Reflection: Paul instructed Timothy not to take seriously unfounded words of gossip, innuendoes, or misunderstandings as a serious charge against a church leader. Paul advised that serious charges are to be investigated based on facts and credible witnesses. Beloved, leaders are put in the church by God, to lead. It is not the role of those in the church congregations to seek to discredit or remove a leader over something they don’t like, disagree with or have drummed up in their head.

Prayer:  Dear God or Father, Thank You for the leaders that you have placed in our lives. Help us to count those leaders who rule well, worthy of double honor. Help us, Lord, to trust You in our leaders, that how they lead us would glorify You. May I not be a part of any act of removal or correction of a leader without serious, investigated, verified collaboration… and even then, only towards Godly restoration… In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.
